GAA: Finally they've done it twice; Dunshaughlin 0-11 Skryne 1-5.

DUNSHAUGHLIN became the first team since Skryne in 1993 to retain the Meath title.

The margin would have been bigger but for a goal by Skryne's Ken O'Connell seven minutes into the second half.

Remarkably that was the only score from play in the second period during which Dunshaughlin's man of the match Martin Reilly slotted over six threes to add to an earlier point from play.

Only four of the 16 points came from play and midfielder Graham Dowd got on target twice before the break when the sides were level at 0-4 each.

Dowd and Dermott Kealy had the edge at midfield.

John McDermott was blotted out as Dunshaughlin stamped their authority on the game.

Former Clare County man Brian McMahon was Skryne's only scorer from play in the first half.

After drawing level Eamon Barry's charges outscored their opponents by four Reilly points to one.
