Furious Webb is set to quit.
Preston 1 Brentford 0Brentford boss Dave Webb offered to quit after his side were beaten for the first time since November.
The Bees manager will tender his resignation on Monday, after claiming: "I don't need the game that badly."
Webb was barracked by a small section of visiting fans behind his dugout after Preston skipper Ian Bryson's goal ended Brentford's 15-match unbeaten run.
He told a press conference: "We are top of the League but with people like that there is no point carrying on.
"I will be offering my resignation on Monday morning. The chairman may ask me to see it out until the end of the season and if he does then I will consider it.
"It is the first time we have been beaten in 15 games and the fans react like that. If people can't respect what I am doing with the resources we have then that's it.
"I am absolutely serious about this. If they think someone else can come in and do the job, then so be it."
To add to the Bees' misery, defender Barry Ashby was ordered off 10 minutes from time for his second booking.
Brentford hit the post twice through Jamie Bates and Stephen Slade in the first half, but woeful finishing late on cost them a point. Preston too found the woodwork with a Lee Cartwright curler.
The 70th-minute winner came when Simon Davey curled a cross into the box, Kevin Kilbane touched it on and Bryson hammered home from six yards.
