Football: RINO: HUGH PUT US OUT OF EUROPE.
FORMER Ger Rino Gattuso last night claimed Scots whistler Hugh Dallas had a stinker in the San Siro on Tuesday.
Dallas disallowed two Milan goals and gave two controversial penalties as Milan crashed out of the Champions League following the 1-1 draw with Deportivo La Coruna.
It is the first time since 1982 that no Italian teams have made the last eight of any of the European club competitions.
But, despite criticising Dallas, the former Rangers midfielder still thinks he is one of the best referees in the business.
Gattuso said: "I always say a referee can make mistakes like a player. Everyone makes mistakes - nobody's perfect.
"But you cannot make mistakes like that in a game that was our chance to make the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
"For me, it wasn't a penalty for Deportivo and there was a foul on Serginho earlier in the game which should have been a penalty but the ref thought it wasn't.
"But I don't think ill of him. He is still a good ref who gets internationals to officiate at so he must be rated highly."
Dallas last night revealed he was pelted by cigarette lighters at the San Siro.
He said: "Thankfully nothing hit the officials but plenty of water bottles, fruit and even cigarette lighters were being thrown onto the pitch.
"I have included all this in my report to UEFA."
