Football: MIXU FORTUNES FOR 10-MEN HIBS; Hamilton 2 Hibs 2.
IT was Mixu fortunes for Hibs on Saturday who threw away three valuable promotion points in a game that should have been dead and buried.
Mighty Finn Paatelainen grabbed a double as Hibs looked to be cruising to victory.
Even despite the harsh sending off of Trinidad and Tobago international Russel Latapy in the 75th minute, Hibs were rarely troubled.
But a spirited fight back from Hamilton gave Alex McLeish's men a hard lesson on life on the First Division.
McLeish said: "I was disgusted with the last fifteen minutes. We had that in the bag, but we threw it away. We defended poorly, we had enough bodies in the box, but we sat too deep and asked for trouble."
Latapy got his marching orders for a second yellow card following a late tackle on Stevie Renicks.
Paatelainen opened the scoring in the 33rd minute after some Stevie Crawford trickery in the box created the opportunity for the big man to squeeze the ball in.
And on the hour, Mixu claimed the second, when he latched on to Colin Miller's short- headed back pass, rounded keeper, Ian Macfarlane, and then tapped in.
Mixu admitted: "We are all disappointed as it feels like a defeat.
"I am happy with my goal ratio, but our main aim is to win and get promotion."
Accies' comeback was on with 17 year old sub, Michael Moore, who headed in a Steve Thompson cross to make it a debut that he would never forget before Darren Henderson headed home with just two minutes to go.
