Football: Joos so gutted to be missing World Cup.

Byline: NEIL CAMERON

CELTIC star Joos Valgaeren last night admitted missing out on the World Cup was the biggest disappointment of his life.

The Belgian's dreams of playing in the Far East were destroyed last month when he had to undergo a second operation on his groin.

Valgaeren had thought he would have had an outside chance of making the Belgium squad but he faces a summer of rehabilitation.

He said: "This is the biggest disappointment I have ever had.

"There are all sorts of things going on in my head because I was desperate to play in the World Cup but there was just no chance of that happening.

"I won't feel 100 per cent again until I play my first game with Celtic.

"The medical people couldn't have known that the other side of my groin would need an operation so there really wasn't anything I could have done about it.

"I am able to do a bit or running but that is about it. I hope to be fit again for pre-season training and be back for Celtic soon."
