Comedy: The paper boy delivers.
ENNIO MARCHETTOIf Ennio Marchetto did nothing else for the rest of his life, at least he would go down in history as the man with the black belt in origami. Ennio - part karaoke singer, part comic, part mime artist - has subverted this normally gentle art, using his amazing paper costumes to send up some of our best-loved cultural figures.
In the twitch of a whisker the unique funnyman can contort himself from being a two-dimensional Barbra Streisand, to the Teletubbies, to the Mona Lisa, and back again.
However the Venetian stumbled across his unusual act, he is certainly doing well with it. It isn't simply the impressions he delivers but the witty way he combines them - The Prodigy's Keith Flint suddenly becomes Godzilla, and James Bond suddenly becomes Shirley Bassey singing Goldfinger.
Audiences up and down the country have been warming to him for months, and now Londoners can catch Ennio on his special West End run. His six days at the Queens Theatre feature new creations, including Austin Powers and Venus DeMilo. So even if you've caught him before there is something fresh to enjoy this time around.
Queens Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue, London W1. Monday, October 18 to Saturday, October 23, inclusive. Box office: 0171 494 5041. Ticket master: 0171 344 4444.
