Barber appointed dean of DePauw School of Music. (Items of Interest).


Internationally renowned percussionist Amy Lynn Amy Lynn is the night-time radio host on KMPS radio in Seattle, Washington. She joined the station in May of 2007 after a stint on KOMO-TV as the morning traffic reporter.  Barber has been appointed dean of the DePauw University DePauw University, at Greencastle, Ind.; coeducational; United Methodist; est. 1832, chartered 1837. The school opened in 1838 as Indiana Asbury College, and in 1884 the present name was adopted.  School of Music.

Barber, who recently served as director of percussion at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Michigan, earned a bachelor of music in percussion and music education from the University of Massachusetts The system includes UMass Amherst, UMass Boston, UMass Dartmouth (affiliated with Cape Cod Community College), UMass Lowell, and the UMass Medical School.  in percussion and music history from the Hartt School of Music in Hartford. She received two consecutive Fulbright lectureships in Prague in 1989, and began a twelve-year stay in Europe. During that time she stayed in Prague, Ljubljana, Slovenia and Vienna, founding two not-for-profit music organizations and lecturing and performing throughout Europe.
