y-lhan ErE-ahin's y-stanbul Sessions to open y-zmir jazz festival.
ySTANBUL (CyHAN)- Saxophonist ylhan ErE-ahin and his acclaimed project ystanbul Sessions will open this year's 23rd yzmir European Jazz Festival on Thursday night, kicking off 17 days of jazz concerts in the Aegean city.
Featuring ErE-ahin on the tenor sax, Alp ErsE[micro]nmez on bass, Turgut Alp Bekoy-lu on the drums and yzzet Kyzyl on percussions, ylhan ErE-ahin's ystanbul Sessions will be onstage 8:30 p.m. on Thursday at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center's (AASSM) Grand Hall, according to the festival's website. The quartet will play songs from their latest studio album, "ystanbul Underground," an 11-track set released in October 2015.
Other performers on the 23rd festival's program, running until March 19, include German pianist Markus Horn, Italy's Luca Costantini Quartet, the Florin Raducanu Jazz Balance from Romania, the Agathe Jazz Quartet, an up-and-coming ensemble from France, and Poland's Piotr Baron Quintet.
