Brazil's tax service allows users to link to their bank and authorize a transfer, either in one lump sum or in monthly installments. Launched in 1996, the site now has 11 million of the 12.5 million Brazilians filing tax returns over the Web, says Luiz Carlos Rocha de Oliveira, national supervisor of the Brazilian government's Income Tax Program. "The program can correct the information you are typing, so it is harder to make mistakes or give wrong codes," says user Andrea Muller, a Sao Paulo systems engineer.
