vital: What's the alternative? Dee Atkinson of Napiers Herbalists gives the alternative solution.

Byline: Dee Atkinson

WHEN treating psoriasis, you are looking at managing the condition.

There is no cure, the best you can hope for is to get it to go into remission.

Depending on what type of psoriasis you have and how it is presenting, there are herbs that can be used to reduce symptoms.

I use some very old fashioned remedies, psoriasis has been treated by herbalists for centuries, and most practitioners have a lot of experience.

Internal blends of herbs such as Sarsparilla and Burdock are thought of as "blood purifiers" and will reduce skin inflammation.

Evening Primrose oil at 2000mg per day and drinking herbal teas such as Chamomile, Valerian and Lemon balm can all be helpful.

Topically using Pokeroot Ointment and Starflower cream will help. too.
