Early Life Born 22 June, 1971, in Stepney, London, the daughter of a Moroccan father and Indian mother. She studied at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.

Career Rouass took up her first role in the industry in the 1990s - as a video jockey on Channel V in India. She moved back to the UK, where she became famous for her role as Amber Gates in Footballers' Wives. She took up recurring roles in Family Affairs and Hollyoaks, as well as episodes of Casualty. She also began to appear regularly in the 'World's Sexiest Women' lists. More recently, Rouass has appeared in Primeval and Spooks. As well as a stint on Strictly Come Dancing, Rouass has had varied film career success. She took up the role of Holby registrar Sahir Shah in February.

Love Life Rouass married Abdeslam Rouass in 1990, but the pair divorced in 2003. In 2005, she and millionaire businessman Nasa Khan participated in a religious ceremony, but didn't marry. They were on and off for a while, during which time Rouass gave birth to their daughter, Inez. She's now dating chef James Petrie. Don't Mention The 'Strictly' uproar in which dancing partner Anton du Beke publicly apologised to Rouass for what seemed to be racist comments. Quote "HD is the worst invention ever. You can see everything. So I'm always nice to the lighting people."
