A MURDER investigation is under way after an elderly man died when a car thief ran him over after stealing his vehicle.Detectives cordoned off a road in Horfield, Bristol, where the victim, in his 60s, was pronounced dead just after 11.30pm on Saturday night.
The victim's car, a silver Skoda hatchback, was driven off before being abandoned.
Detective Inspector Richard Kelvey, of Avon and Somerset Police, said: "We are treating this incident as a murder investigation.
"I would urge anyone to come forward with information no matter how insignificant they think it might be."
The offender is believed to be a man in his early 20s, of slim build, with short spiked hair, police said.
