ANGELS & DEMONS (CHANNEL 5, tonight 9pm) TOM Hanks reprises his role as Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon from The Da Vinci Code.

The character played by Ewan McGregor was Carlo Ventresca in the original book, but this name was changed to Camerlengo Patrick McKenna to reflect McGregor's lack of Italian heritage.

THE CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN (BBC4, Monday, 10pm) YOU can't beat a bit of classic Hammer horror and this stars Peter Cushing as Doctor Frankenstein and includes Christopher Lee in the cast. Filming sparked a strong friendship between the two actors that lasted until Cushing's death in 1994.

THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES (BBC1, Tuesday, 11.55pm) PSYCHOLOGICAL thriller with Richard Gere as reporter John Klein who travels to Point Pleasance to uncover sightings of a so-called mothman, whose visitations are reputedly a portent of impending doom. Alan Bates plays paranormal expert Leek.

DRAG AG A ME TO HELL (5*, Wednesday, 9pm) WHEN a bank worker refuses a loan extension to the enigmatic Mrs Ganush, the old woman retaliates by attacking her, cursing her with the Lamia, a demon that will claim the young woman's soul three days hence. Expect lots of gore and dark humour.
