BARGING ROUND BRITAIN WITH JOHN SERGEANT ITV, 8pm WHO doesn't love a barge? OK, don't answer that. But what about one with jolly John Sergeant at its helm? You may not have known this (I didn't), but there is a hidden network of canals across Britain - over 2,000 miles of them in fact.

In this second series, John has chosen six more of his favourite stretches. Beginning his voyage along the picturesque Peak Forest Canal running through Derbyshire, it's one full of surprises, like a spectacular aqueduct and diverting stops like the Swizzels sweet factory.

John also marvels at the Marple Aqueduct, before dropping in on local boxing legend Ricky Hatton in Hyde, who gives him a rather challenging sparring lesson.

RICK STEIN'S LONG WEEKEND BBC2, 9pm "A LITTLE bit of what you fancy does you good," says Rick as his new series begins. We couldn't agree more.

The chef wants to visit new cities for a weekend break - but nowhere obvious like Paris or Rome, somewhere a bit more undiscovered. And stuff the museums and art galleries, he's after the food.

The first weekend is Bordeaux. Dubbed the Sleeping Beauty of France, the city has been cleaned up since they pulled down a load of dusty factories and now it looks stunning.

Pitching up in the nearest bedroom he can find to a restaurant, Rick ambles from meal to meal, trying out markets, wineries, cafes and bars. Rick even whips up the odd dish along the way, too.

LOOKALIKES Channel 4, 10pm IT'S a double-bill series finale, and Andy Harmer - David Beckham-alike and agency boss - has bagged a gig with a ferry company which wants his best performers. But David Brent is livid that he hasn't been invited. And once aboard, Del Boy's jokes are a bit too blue for the family audience.

Back on shore, Victoria Beckham decides to raise money for the elderly with a Lookalikes nude charity calendar.

Later, a still furious Brent decides to create his own agency, going all out to poach Gordon Ramsay with the promise of the dream TV gig - a cookery show.

Elsewhere, Ed Sheeran's lookalike has let fame go to his head.
