telecom technologies Names Industry Veteran as Chief Executive Officer; Former McKinsey Partner Well Known as Expert in Systems Integration, Internet, High-speed Data Services.
telecom technologies, inc., a leading provider of telecommunications software products and professional services, today announced it has named industry veteran Nagi Rao as chief executive officer.
Rao, a former partner at McKinsey & Company, Inc., has more than 12 years of experience in planning, developing and managing advanced telecommunications and technology systems.
telecom technologies' founder, Anousheh Ansari, who has been president and chief executive officer, is now chairman of the board of directors. Cofounder Hamid Ansari, formerly chief operating officer, becomes vice chairman of the board.

"Mr. Rao will take this company to the next level as it grows into a leading provider of intelligence and control products and services to converged voice and data networks."
telecom technologies' recently released series of products that provide Local Number Portability and intelligent networking solutions have been very well received in the marketplace, Ansari added.
Immediately prior to joining telecom technologies, Rao was co-leader of McKinsey's electronics, telecom, and electronic commerce practices. He was recognized as a McKinsey expert in the areas of systems integration, Internet infrastructure, Internet business models and high-speed data services.
"It was difficult to leave McKinsey, a truly outstanding firm," Rao said. "As I spent time with telecom technologies' engineers and customers, I became very convinced that this company is truly a hidden jewel. My focus will be on getting the message out about our industry-leading products and services targeted at enabling the convergence of voice and data networks."
Before joining McKinsey, Rao was a senior engineer with DSC Communications Corp. He was also president and founding partner of CMR Associates, and a technical staff member with AT&T Bell Laboratories.
Rao is a board member of the MIT Enterprise Forum and is on the advisory board of the University of Texas at Dallas School of Management. He has authored numerous technical papers on computer networks and has been published in IEEE and ACM journals.
Rao holds a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University, a master's of science degree in electrical engineering and computer science from Clarkson University and a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from Mangalore University.
He currently resides in Plano with his wife and two children.
