sport ROUND-UP: Bond stuns Lee.

SNOOKER: Nigel Bond stunned defending champion Stephen Lee at the Welsh Open.

The 41-year-old cruised to a 5-2 second round victory to send Lee crashing out in Newport.

After his comfortable victory Bond said: "I seem to be in a winning bubble at the moment.

"Two or three years ago I got back into the top 32 - and I've never lost my desire."

Bond will play either Tiptree's Ali Carter or Basildon's Stuart Bingham in the last 16, while Ken Doherty will face Scot Stephen Maguire after he beat Joe Swail 5-3.

Ian McCulloch beat Mark Allen 5-4 in the first round.
