showbiz: Face facts, Alice - you are a Brummie.
Byline: Anuji Varma, Roz Laws & Paul ColeIS Alice Eve embarrassed about her family roots?
The stunning 23 year-old actress, daughter of Trevor Eve and Sharon Maughan, says she's pleased she inherited something of her mother's Scouse accent rather than her dad's native Brummie tongue.
Her mum stars in Holby City as Liver-pudlian nurse Tricia, while Walking The Dead's Trevor grew up in Sutton Coldfield.
Oxford-educated Alice stars in next month's major movie Starter For Ten and is currently wowing London audiences in Tom Stoppard's play Rock 'n' Roll.
Her co-star is handsome Rufus Sewell, 39, with whom she is said to be having an off-stage romance.
Alice shot to fame in The Rotters' Club, the TV drama set in Bir- mingham in which she did not adopt a local accent.
She does, however, have a slight Liverpool twang in her first major TV role, an ITV two-parter titled Losing Gemma.
"It was easy to get into the Scouse accent because my mum is from Merseyside." she says.
"Dad is from Birmingham but he never really had a strong Brummie accent.
"Some might say 'Thank goodness for that!' But I couldn't possibly comment." Now, now, Alice!
