seven ways to... care for your crowning glory.
1 DON'T scrub the scalp with your fingertips when you wash your hair or you will loosen hairs from the soft wet follicles.
2 DON'T tug at wet hair as you comb it as this will remove or tear it. Use a widetoothed brush or comb - these are less likely to cause snagging.
3 DON'T brush or comb your hair too frequently as this may irritate the scalp and stimulate oil glands to produce more oil, making your hair look lank.
4 DON'T use anti-dandruff shampoos more than once every two weeks as they contain ingredients such as selenium that can irritate the scalp.
5 USE the mildest shampoo you can find and only ever shampoo you hair once - shampoos are so efficient that shampooing twice is unnecessary.
You do not need to scrub hard to work up a lather, just leave the shampoo on for about a minute and then rinse until the hair is clean.
6 ALWAYS use a conditioner after hair washing to prevent tangling.
7 AFTER you've washed your hair, dab it dry with a towel rather than rubbing it vigorously.
Beautiful hair takes a little effort - but is always worth it
