pulver.com to Host the Second SIP Bake Off August 5-6, 1999.

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 1999--

Jeff Pulver, President/CEO of pulver.com announced today that pulver.com will be hosting the second SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) "bake off" at their Melville, New York office August 5-6, 1999. "We see SIP as one of the important protocols to the future of Voice over Net. I am pleased that the pulver.com Open Test Network (http://pulver.com ) can provide an environment in which companies that are developing implementations can meet and work together."

This event is designed to give implementers an opportunity to test compatibility between devices that utilize SIP.

The first SIP Bake Off was held at Columbia University April 8-9, 1999. Participants, from the U.S., Canada, Sweden, Finland, and the U.K., included: 3Com (NASD:COMS) , Alcatel (NYSE:ALA), Cisco (NASD:CSCO), British Telecom (NYSE:BTY), Columbia University, Dialogic (NASD: DLGC/INTC), dynamicsoft, Ellemtel, Ericsson (NASD:ERICY), Helsinki University of Technology, Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HWP), Lucent (NYSE:LU), MCI (NASD:WCOM), Mediatrix, Nortel (NYSE:NT), and Pingtel.

Henning Schulzrinne of Columbia University commented that "The second bake-off will provide an opportunity to show and prove interoperability of some of the advanced features SIP offers. I also look forward to seeing a number of new companies and organizations join the growing list of SIP implementors."
