pounds 60k cheat jailed over 3 fake kids; BENEFITS.
BENEFIT fraudster Lisa Ellington was jailed for a year after pocketing pounds 60,000 by inventing three children.
Lisa Ellington, 27, claimed to have five children when she actually had only two - and they were no longer in her care because of abuse.
The cheat, who had previous convictions for drug dealing, even said one fictitious child had a disability to squeeze more cash out of the public purse, a court heard.
Before the pounds 60,541 swindle trial, Ellington, of Leamington Spa, Warks, said: "I know I've done wrong but I have had a lot going on in my life."
At Warwick crown court, she pleaded guilty to fraud between November 2004 and April 2009.
Ellington said she used the money from the benefits for her heroin addiction.
Her two real children were put up for adoption after she and partner, Nicholas Grainger, 31, abused her toddler son, who suffered broken bones and burns.
