pounds 600K BOOST FOR PROJECTS.

MORE than pounds 500,000 has been given out to grassroots projects across the region thanks to the Community Foundation for Merseyside.

The charity's Merseyside Grassroots Grants Fund distributed to 171 community groups across the Merseyside region totalled pounds 657,282.

The grants are to be used for activities and services which provide support for residents and help strengthen the voice of the community.

The grants, which were distributed across Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens andWirral, were awarded to a variety of projects ranging from arts and culture projects to allotment groups.

They included Halebank Youth Club, Knowsley-based Art For Their Sake,, St Helens Music Network andWirral's Families Need Fathers.
