pounds 6,000 fling of son who tricked mum.
Former public schoolboy Trussler, 19, needed just ONE WEEK to spend the cash at his pounds 600-a-night suite in Bruges, Belgium.
He swigged expensive bubbly at breakfast and bought his girlfriend a designer Versace dress.
And after being punished by a court yesterday, he said: "It's amazing how quickly pounds 6,000 can go."
Magistrates at Basingstoke, Hants, heard that Trussler went on his spree after his mum Joan was admitted to hospital in April.
He found the spare keys to her Fiesta and received a pounds 6,000 bank draft after selling the car to a dealer.
Trussler, of Winchester, then cashed the draft, got a friend to buy his ferry ticket and lived it up at the posh Hotel Navara.
When the money ran out he returned to Britain and gave himself up to police.
Yesterday he was sentenced to 120 hours community service after admitting theft and obtaining a bank draft by deception.
The chairman told him: "You are a young man who has not impressed the bench."
Joan said: "It's been an absolute nightmare."
