pounds 3M LOTTO CURES GERS FAN'S BLUES; Jackpot joy.

A RANGERS fan found the perfect cure for his Old Firm weekend hangover - a pounds 3million Lotto jackpot win.

The 35-year-old billposter, from Glasgow, will collect his cheque today at Ibrox.

Lottery bosses won't name him yet but say he's been celebrating since Saturday night, despite his team's defeat by Celtic on Sunday.

He was one of five winners who chose the numbers 7, 10, 17, 28, 29 and 33 and shared a pounds 15million 'super jackpot'.

He's the 299th Scottish jackpot winner and the 178th Scottish millionaire.

The last Scots winner, 45-year-old George Ross, was also a Rangers fan. The civil engineer and his wife, Terri, from East Kilbride,won pounds 5.3million in October.

A Camelot spokeswoman said the new winner was not part of a syndicate but would not say if he'd be investing any of his cash in Rangers.

Gers-daft Michael Carroll, 21, ploughed more than pounds 1million of his pounds 9.7million fortune into the club after winning in November 2002.

But the bad boy, who lives in Norfolk, is best known for a string of convictions. In September, he was released from jail after serving half of a five-month sentence for drug offences.
