AN Irish family were toasting its good fortune last night after their bottle of vintage whisky sold at auction for pounds 14,850.

The Glenavon Special Liquer Whisky was distilled and bottled in Ballindalloch in Banffshire, Scotland, in the 1850s but no one knows how it came to be in Ireland.

A source at auctioneers Bonham's said it was bought by an anonymous telephone bidder from Scotland.
