pounds 1000 dram is a record.

A RARE Highland single malt whisky yesterday became the most expensive dram in the world.

An anonymous bidder paid pounds 25,877.50 for a 62-year-old bottle of The Dalmore at McTear's auction house in Glasgow - around pounds 1000 a nip.

The price beats the previous world record of pounds 19,800 for a bottle of 60-year-old Macallan.

There are only 12 bottles of The Dalmore. One will remain at the Dalmore distillery, the other 10 will be sold around the world.
