A ROMANTIC meal featuring entertainment from the Welsh National Opera will raise money for a good cause.

Diners will be serenaded by opera stars while enjoying a three-course Italian meal at La Boheme Restaurant in Wesley Lane, Charles Street, Cardiff, from 7.30pm on Thursday, January 22.

The event in aid of George Thomas Hospice celebrates St Dwynwen's Day, which commemorates the Welsh patron saint of lovers on Saturday, January 25.

THE International champions and Rising-Sun karate club train at the YMCA HUB on Mondays, 8pm to 9pm, Thursdays, 6pm to 8pm, and Fridays, 6pm to 9pm.

Rising stars (four to five-year-olds) train at Colcot Sport Centre on Sundays 11 to noon.

Anybody is welcome to train at the beginners' class for a first free lesson, which is held on Fridays, 7pm to 8pm.

Instructors are fully qualified, insured and are registered with the Welsh Karate Governing Body.
