nVIEW LAUNCHES NEW VERSION OF HIGH-PERFORMANCE LCD PANEL; ADVANCED SPECTRA C BOASTS ON-BOARD VIDEO, 1.4 MILLION COLORS

NEWPORT NEWS, Va., Sept. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- nView(R) Corporation (NASDAQ-NMS: NVUE), a leader in award winning LCD projection technology, unveiled a new version of its best-selling LCD projection panel, the ViewFrame(R) Spectra C, at the Fed Micro '93 trade show in Washington. Simple, easy and totally portable, the advanced Spectra C uses the latest active-matrix liquid crystal display (LCD) technology and nView's proprietary electronics to project computer and video images, now in up to 1.4 million brilliant colors. The new panel also packs on-board video capability for projection of full-motion, full-color video. The ViewFrame Spectra C is available for immediate shipment and is priced at $5,695, an increase of only $100 over the original model.
The enhanced Spectra C delivers a level of image quality absent in others' LCD products: true flesh tones, intense primary hues, smooth color transition, sharp graphics and faithful video reproduction. A 8.4" (diagonal) LCD panel and nView's proprietary electronics have resulted in the brightest active-matrix LCD projection panel on the market.
Easy, plug-and-play setup requires little or no adjustment to project an optimal image. The Spectra C is compatible with virtually any PC or Macintosh computer, as well as NTSC, PAL, SECAM and S-Video sources. On-board video capability allows the panel to connect directly to a VCR or laser disc player for full-motion video, eliminating the need for an external adapter or computer video capture card. Users can switch between sources with just the push of a button on the remote control.
Introduced in November 1992, the Spectra C is just one in a line of LCD projection products from nView, the company with primary patent rights in innovative LCD projection technology. The Spectra C's rugged, proven performance has contributed to a pedigree of industry awards -- more than any other competitors, combined -- for overall performance and value. Those awards include MacUser Magazine's prestigious Editors' Choice Award for "Best New Display Product, 1992," a 4-1/2-Mice Rating from MacUser for "Favorite LCD Product" (June 1993), MacWorld Magazine's Editor's Choice Award, the Readers' Choice Award from Presentation Products magazine, and many others.
nView's line of LCD projection devices is distributed through a worldwide network of authorized resellers and distributors.
