mum was denied help' TRIAL.

A MAN stabbed his wife to death in front of her mother and two children after police refused to escort her to a refuge, a jury heard yesterday.

Hajrudin Hasanovic, 33, was about to be deported to Serbia when he killed Englishborn Cassandra 24. She had won custody of their sons and was going to Australia.

The court heard police visited "terrified" Mrs Hasanovic at home in Bognor, West Sussex, but did not give her the escort she wanted.

Instead she was driven in her mother's car. Her husband dragged her out and stabbed her. Prosecutor Philippa McAtasney said: "He knew exactly what he was doing." Hasanovic, from Southsea, Hants, admits manslaughter with diminished responsibility but denies murder.

The case at Lewes goes on..
