THOUSANDS of Scots are being given the chance to find a cheaper and greener way to get to their work.Braehead have launched an online car-share scheme for people who work in and around the shopping centre just off the M8, near Glasgow.
As well as staff at the shopping mall being able to join free of charge, the car-share scheme is also open to those working at the nearby Diageo whisky plant, IKEA furniture store, Glasgow Audi and the Xscape leisure complex.
There are 6600 people working for the companies involved in the scheme, which is supported by Renfrewshire Council.
To participate, you simply have to log on to www.braeheadcarshare.co.uk and register your postcode, where you work and when you'll be making your journey to Braehead.
The website will then automatically source others who will be travelling to the same place at the same time and supply their contact details to allow you to make arrangements.
The site is run by Liftshare, a UK-wide social enterprise who help individuals travel in a more sustainable way by sharing their journeys.
