WHITLAND LIVESTOCK MARCH 17 With numbers back up over 400 sheep ,the week's good trade continued with an overall average of 202.29ppk with highs to 220ppk for standard weight hoggetts while rejects ease slightly to average 183ppk with a top of 211ppk.

Top price per head - PS100 (62kg) from Wilson, Common Church; PS99.20 (55kg) from Morgan, Parc-yr-Hendy; PS98.80 (50kg) from Davies, Mount Pleasant; PS98 (51kg) for Thomas, Cresswell Farm Top price per kilo - 220ppk from Davies, Mount Pleasant; 213ppk Thomas, Haven Drive; 205ppk from Thomas, Cresswell Farm Cull Ewes and Ramsx Top 17 lots exceeded PS100 in a ewe trade that continues to amaze. Leadin prices were PS135 from Monahan, South Headborough Farm; PS134 from Gethin, Cnwcymorfil; PS128 from Reed & Co, Upper Scolton and also Slater, Upper Colston Farm; PS125 Jenkins, Woodpark and PS115.50 for cull rams from Bowen, Gwyndy.

Cull Cows/OTM Barren cows sell to an average of 117.69ppk (PS802/ head). Top price was PS1190 for a British Blue cow from Jones, Robleston Hall.

NEWCASTLE EMLYN MARCH 19 Another impressive turnout with more new season lambs forward. Quality was very high with the best new season lambs seeking up to 224.0p/k ((97.50 per head).

Hoggetts selling to 211p/k with many heavy hogs forward still managing to average 198p/k.

Less store hoggetts forward yet didn't affect the trade with hogs selling to PS84 per head.

Cull Ewes and rams again saw a fat trade with ewes selling to PS108 levelling at PS85.30. Cull rams saw an exceptional trade with rams up to PS136.00. All rams averaged PS102.80.

NEWCASTLE EMLYN MARCH 12 Messrs Dai Lewis Cyf Auctioneers report similar numbers forward this week to last week, with improved trade.

New season lambs saw a similar trade with the best lambs selling up to 218p/kg and all averaged 214.66p/ kg. Hoggs sold to a fast run with trade up 10p on last week.

Demand was evident throughout the hoggetts with standard lambs topping the market at 209p/kg.

All hogs maintained their strong prices with the best selling to PS75.80p/h and averaging PS62.37.

A high-quality turnout of ewes met an equal trade with ewes selling up to PS139 with the overall average of all ewes selling to PS95.41.

Rams also sold to the same story with the best killing rams selling to PS119 levelling out at PS107.
