it's muddy marvelous! experience a wide variety of runs with a few extra obstacles thrown in for fun!

ARE you looking for a run that involves a little bit more mud and dirt? Some of the mud runs will be close to home but if you fancy making a weekend of it, we've got some of those too.

Whether you're a beginner, or wanting to turn your 10km into a very muddy 10km with obstacles, there's a huge variety out there for everyone. Ram Run Summer Ram Run Sunday, July 22 Held at Cliff Lakes Watersports Centre in Tamworth, this is a serious challenge for OCR racers a, serious fun for fun runners and a great run for juniors.

There are two options, 8km or 16km over trails, river, lake, marsh, mud, natural obstacles, man made obstacles and the Bridge of Despair.

Iron Ram Saturday July 21 This one is for those who want a bigger challenge.

It's an intensive obstacle sprint (1.6km) plus a real strength test. You may be a tough OCR runner, a PT, a Crossfitter, even a Ninja warrior.

A great challenge for the ultra competitive racer but also a great personal challenge for someone just ready to give it a go!

The Iron Ram format is restricted to 200 male and 100 female entries. Wolf Run The Wolf Run is Wild Running - a unique combination of three kinds of off-road running: mud runs, trail runs and obstacle runs. It's a hardcore 10k run across raw natural terrain, including open ground, woodland, lakes and thick mud.

Running in a pack, or as a lone wolf, you'll tackle a series of tough obstacles - both man-made and natural - designed to test your mental and physical strength, skill and stamina. You'll run, climb, jump, wade, crawl and swim through a course designed to challenge you on every level.

There are a choice of four seasons you can run in - or become an Alpha Wolf and run them all.

This year, the Autumn Wolf at Welsh Road Farm will be the last one to be held there when it will have to find a new venue.

Information at Tough Mudder is an event which has one of the biggest variety of difficulty courses.

You'll test your strength, stamina, and grit, and you'll help the Mudders around you to do the same.

Runners have a total of eight options which they can take: Mini mudder, Tough mudder 5km, Tough mudder half, Tough mudder full, Tougher mudder, Toughest mudder, World's toughest mudder and Season pass.

Go to Ironman is the one of a series of longdistance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation, consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26.22-mile run, raced in that order and without a break.

It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world.

Go to Pretty Muddy for Cancer Research The Cancer Research's website of Pretty Muddy explains it perfectly... "Pretty Muddy(R) isn't like any other fundraising event.

"It's a muddy obstacle course that women of any ability can climb over, crawl under, and charge through.

"Choose from either 5k or 10k Pretty Muddy events. Whatever the distance. However dirty you get."

The events all have waves starting 15 minutes apart from each other to make sure the course is safe.

If you are entering as a group, make sure you enter the same time wave as you can't move waves once signed up.

At the time of the event, you must be female, and 13 years or over.

If you have a pre-existing medical condition you should seek your doctor's advice before registering.

Locations in Coventry and Warwickshire include: Coventry and Warwickshire: Stoneleigh Park, Saturday June 30 and Sunday July 1; Rugby: Draycote Water, Saturday June 23; Solihull: Malvern Park, Sunday June 17.

Go to Rough runner is similar to Wolf Run with the sheer number of obstacles and tasks, however, this time - it is TV game show inspired! As well as military-style obstacles you'll see on every other event out there, that do nothing but freeze, burn, lacerate and electrocute you.

The obstacles are inspired by all those game shows we love such as Takeshi's Castle, Wipeout, Gladiator and Ninja Warrior.

2018 sees the launch of a new event, Roughian Rascals, a one mile course designed specifically for adventure-seeking kids from seven to 15 years old.

The course will give kids the chance to experience some unique, cool and fun obstacles - in a safe and managed environment.
