is it worth it? Karen Price tried the new Head to Toe package at Kamigata, Cardiff.
what they say The Head to Toe package is made up of three treatments from Kamigata - the Pure Focus Facial, Fusion Stone Massage and a head massage with wash and blow dry, designed to do what it says on the tin - treat every part of the body. Using Aveda's natural products, it is essentially tailored to suit the individual.
what we say The only problem I have with choosing a spa treatment is deciding what to go for - a massage or a facial. But with Kamigata's Head to Toe package you can enjoy both, topped off with a head massage and blow dry, all for pounds 99. After a consultation with a beauty therapist, my session began with the 60-minute facial, tailor-made to suit my skin. First I was asked to sniff three different aroma oils and choose my favourite, which was then used for my treatment. After being cleansed, a mask was placed on the skin and my therapist gave me a relaxing foot massage as I waited for the mask to get to work. She later massaged my face, neck and shoulders. At the end of the treatment, my skin was glowing and I felt incredibly relaxed. Next it was time for the hour-long full body Fusion Stone Massage using warm and cold stones. First of all she concentrated on my front, starting with my legs and arms. The combination of the warm and cooler stones is really invigorating. When I turned over, she concentrated on my shoulders and upper back.
after effects I was so relaxed I could barely move. The whole experience lasted over two hours, it was true indulgence. One of the problems with having a facial is that you often leave the spa with your hair covered in oil but as this package ends with a head massage, wash and blow dry, you go home looking as good as you feel.
