SKODA is adding a bigger, roomier Scout version to its Roomster MPV range, with first UK deliveries expected in June.

The compact people carrier shares the same chunky body protection kit and increased ride height of its recently-announced larger sibling, the Octavia Scout.

Unlike the 4x4 Octavia, the Roomster Scout is two-wheel drive only. From pounds 12,505 to pounds 14,050, the Roomster Scout is 14mm longer, 11mm wider and 43mm taller than standard Roomsters.

As well as styled body mouldings, the Scout also gets 16-inch alloy wheels, special Scout upholstery, roof rails, fog lights, sunset glass, a tyre pressure monitor, electronic stability and aluminium pedals as part of an extensive specification.

MOST drivers admit to driving while stressed or angry towards other road users, according to a survey by safety organisation Brake and breakdown specialist Green Flag.

The survey of more than 1,000 drivers shows almost a third drive while dangerously distracted by stress and anger at least once a week.

Brake says research has shown that angry drivers are more likely to take risks such as speeding, rapidly switching lanes, tailgating and jumping red lights.

"Most drivers riealise the dangers of driving while angry or stressed and yet the vast majority still drive while distracted by stress or anger at other road users," says the organisation.

"Brake advises drivers feeling angry or stressed to pull over at a safe place and allow time to calm down. "

Brake urgs the government to introduce year-round advertising campaigns to warn of the dangers of road rage and how to be a safer driver.
