i-data international acquires Eicon Technology.

The Danish IT company i-data international a-s reports that the offer of its Canadian subsidiary i-data Canada Inc to purchase all of the shares of Eicon Technology Corp has been successful.

According to i-data over 32.7m of Eicon's shares, or approximately 96.4% of the total, had been tendered when the offer expired on 7 November. i-data Canada plans to acquire the remaining Eicon shares under the compulsory acquisition provisions of Canada's Business Corporations Act as soon as possible.

Later this month i-data expects to publish the details of Eicon's merger with i-data's Secure Internet Connectivity business unit, which is currently marketed under the LASAT Networks brand.
