football: Choice of coaching courses for half term.

YOUNGSTERS are being offered a host of football coaching courses to keep them busy during the October half-term break.

Coventry City's Football in the Community scheme are laying on sessions at ten venues throughout Coventry and Warwickshire, while the club have also organised a specialist course for budding goalkeepers.

Boys and girls aged five to 13 are invited to attend the two and three day courses costing pounds 20 and pounds 30 beginning on Monday, October 25, at the following venues: Woodlands Secondary School, Tile Hill; Finham Park Secondary, Green Lane; Marconi Sports Ground, Allard Way; Coundon Court Secondary, Northbrook Road; NFU, Tiddington; Race Leys Junior, Barton Road, Bedworth; Rugby High School for Girls, Longrood Road, Rugby; North Leamington High School, Cloister Way; Aylesford School, Shelley Avenue, Warwick, and St Thomas More, Greenmoor Road, Nuneaton.

Goalkeepers, meanwhile, aged seven to 12 are invited to take part in a five day course at Coundon Court School, Coventry, costing pounds 50. For more information and to book a place telephone Ray Gooding on 07879 626888.

Elsewhere, former Sky Blues FA Cup hero Lloyd McGrath is running similar football coaching courses for five to 14-year-olds at the following venues: Hawkes Mill Sports Club, Hawkes Mill Lane, Coventry; Stratford Leisure Centre; Shipston High School, Darlingscote Road, Shipston; Southam College, Welsh Road, Southam; Stivichall Primary School, Green Lane North, Coventry, and Northampton College, Badby Road West, Daventry.
