WEDNESDAY next the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers will parade through the town of Kenilworth to the castle. It will be a homecoming for the 150 servicemen who have returned from tour of duty in Afghanistan. Standards of the Royal Warwickshire Regiment Association, now amalgamated with the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, will be in attendance on the parade, assembling at 11am. A coach will depart from the Coventry Royal Warwicks Club, Tower Street, at 9.30am to convey ex-service personnel to Kenilworth but seats must be booked soon with Mr Nelson on 02476 441496.
COVENTRY Standard Members Association members will assemble at the TA T Centre, Radford Road, at 12.45pm on Wednesday for the monthly meeting. All Bearers should now have received the list of parades dated for the ensuing months from secretary Geoff Wells.
A St George's Day concert has been organised by veteran Brian Walker to be held at the Belgrade Theatre on April 23, commencing at 1.30pm. Admission tickets are pounds 9, obtained from the box office. An impressive cast has been booked and service members from the Gamecock Barracks, Bramcote, will take stage for the finale. Coventry Ex-service Standard Bearers will not be present this year.
THE Coventry branch Royal Army Medical Corps Association have a social night booked for Thursday April 22 at the Royal Warwicks Club, commencing at 7pm. A welcome is extended to members of our other ex-service branches.
