n CONDOLENCES are conveyed to Mick Kieran and family on the sad passing of Lynn. Held in high regard by all of us who knew her, Lynn served in the Queen Alexandra's Royal Army Nursing Corps and was a standard bearer with Mick.

Coventry Ex-service Standard Bearers' Association formed a guard of honour at her funeral, led by Royal Naval Association Standards.

Thirty ex-service association standards joined serving fusiliers to form a guard of honour at the funeral of Shaun Bush.

Shaun served in 2nd Battalion, Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in Afghanistan. Condolences are conveyed to his family.

n COVENTRY'S branch of the Royal Signals Regiment Association meets this evening at the TA Centre, Radford Road, at 8pm. n LADIES who served in the WAAF get together at the Royal Warwicks Club, city centre, at noon on Friday for their monthly meeting.

n No 1 Branch Royal British Legion members assemble at the Royal Warwicks Club, city centre, on Sunday at 11am for the monthly meeting. New members are welcome. Call secretary Mrs A Doolan on 024 7644 3176 for details. n MEMBERS of the Royal Lincolnshire and Anglian Regimental Association parade at the Marston Green Club, Bickenhill Road, Marston Green, at 7.45 next Monday. n THE Bedworth branch Royal British Legion meets at the town's Ex-servicemen's Club at 11.30am next Tuesday and the Bulkington village branch of the RBL falls in at the village War Memorial Club at 8pm.

n ON Saturday, the Royal Army Service Corps and Royal Corps of Transport Association Coventry branch holds a "Blitz Nite" social evening at the Royal Warwicks Club starting at 7pm. Tickets cost pounds 3.50 from secretary Tom Kerr on 024 7636 1098 or at the club entrance on the night.

n THE Royal Artillery Association Dinner on September 19 was a very successful event, attended by council leaders and representatives from all three ex-service associations. The Combined Services Pipe Band and Drums gave a first-class display, not forgetting the trumpeters, Eddy and colleague, from the Coventry Corps of Drums. The association officials' correct telephone numbers are president Sid Watson 024 7641 2466 and secretary Pam Simpson 01926 832928. n THERE was an excellent attendance at Holy Trinity Church, city centre, on Sunday last week for the annual King George V naval memorial service. Members of the KGV were joined by ex-service personnel of all three armed forces and the Coventry Ex-service Standard Bearers' Association.

n THE RAFA Regional Standard was laid up in Christ Church, Frankpledge Road, Cheylesmore, on Sunday last week, with the attendance of RAFA members, other former service personnel representing the various branches and our standard bearers. Thanks to Coventry branch RAFA secretary Bill Taylor for organising this memorable occasion.
