eat out on the big day; Looking for a traditional Christmas meal, but without all the cooking - and the washing up? Here's our guide to some of the best places to eat on Christmas Day 2015.

delifonseca | (Stanley Street, Liverpool; 0151 255 0808, www.delifonseca.co.uk) is set to host both a lunchtime Christmas Day Celebration at 12pm and Christmas Day Festive Feast dinner at 3pm. For mains, diners can choose from Roasted Bronze Turkey "Wellington" with Sage and Onion Stuffing and Goose Fat Chateau Potatoes, Baked Fillet of John Dory with Parmentier Potatoes in Lobster Bisque or Mushroom Duxelle and Chestnut "Mille Feuille" served with Garlic Roast Potatoes. This will be followed by dessert canapes including Apple and Calvados Strudel Bites, White Chocolate and Baileys Truffles, Fonseca's Chocolate Decadence Roulade Pink Champagne Sorbet and Christmas Pudding Semifredo.

aT | Titanic Hotel (Stanley Dock, Regent Road, Liverpool; 0151 559 1444, www.titanichotel liverpool.com) guests will be welcomed with a glass of Laurent Perrier Champagne and specially created chef's canapes. Lunch will be served in Stanley's Bar and Grill restaurant and diners will be able to enjoy the festive ambience until 6pm. There's a choice of four dishes for each of the three courses. Starters include pan-roasted Cornish scallops or traditional leek and potato soup served with curried leeks and soft poached quail egg. For mains there's classic ballotine of free-range turkey and slow roasted rib of Cheshire beef served with all of the trimmings. The dessert menu includes warm chocolate moelleaux, Arctic Roll as well as a luxurious Christmas pudding, all followed by coffee and Titanic petit fours.

TRaTToRia | 51 (Old Hall Street, Liverpool; 0151 236 4739) will be opening on Christmas Day to serve a yuletide feast inspired by traditional festive cuisine with a contemporary Italian twist. To start there are appetizers to share, followed by a choice of starters including Seared King Scallops wrapped with Speck Ham, Greenlands Prawn Cocktail and Avocado, Walnut and Stilton Salad. For a main course, guests can choose from Scottish Beef Fillet Steak Rossini, Grilled Seabass Fillet with Crushed New Potatoes or Home Made Goats Cheese Sun Dried Tomato Raviolo. Desserts include Tiramasu, Christmas Pudding and Brandy Sauce and Artisan Cheese and Biscuits.

THoRnTon | Hall Hotel and Spa (Neston Road, Thornton Hough, Wirral; 0151 336 3938), promises no shortage of festive foodie options. Those wanting to dodge the stresses of Christmas Day cooking can relax with Christmas lunch in the hotel's three AA rosette fine dining restaurant, the Lawns, complete with wood panelling, chandelier and open fireplace or The Pulford Suite. The 4 coursemenu includes traditional Christmas day fayre as well as seasonal game terrine, piccalilli and watercress, seared sea bream with chestnut gnocchi, braised blade of beef with vichy carrot and roast chateau potato and orange cheesecake with passion fruit sorbet.
