cavotec sheds light on advanced maritime and aviation solutions at regional seminar.
Dubai: Cavotec Middle East FZE, the Dubai-based subsidiary of Cavotec MSL, and leading supplier of innovative environmentally friendly power solutions to the maritime sector, has announced the successful conclusion of a series of three-day seminars in Doha, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, in association with Cavotec Middle East's regional partners.
Addressing senior executives from Cavotec Middle East and its partners, the seminar covered an array of topics including the introduction of Cavotec's specific arrangements with its partners WIBE AB, Palazzoli Spa and Aura Light AB. In addition, the seminar provided an in-depth overview of Cavotec's comprehensive range of innovative solutions to satisfy the demanding requirements of the ports and maritime industries.
Commenting on the event's positive impacts on Cavotec's local and regional dealings, Mr. Juergen Strommer, Managing Director, Cavotec Middle East, said: "Gathering all the senior executives of Cavotec Middle East together with those of our partners is essential to orientate them on our focused solutions for the airport and port market, as well as our recently awarded projects. We have taken this opportunity to provide a series of technical seminars to increase the efficiency and technological competitiveness of our executives."
"The results of these seminars shall be visible in both decision making and work output of our executives, which will then further develop our strengths as a company. We are deeply satisfied with the participation that our attendees have shown during the events," Mr. Strommer added.
Tackling market trends in the maritime industry, Cavotec's executives discussed two major innovations which are already revolutionizing certain parts of the industry. One of these systems is the widely noted MoorMaster Automated Mooring System which incorporates inventive vacuum and hydraulics systems to safely and efficiently moor any type of vessel.
The utilization of the MoorMaster enables mooring without ropes in less than 12 seconds while simultaneously increasing cargo handling efficiency. With the exponential increase in foreign trade volumes, the booming maritime industry in the UAE and the rest of the region certainly stands to benefit from such a state-of-the-art system.
The Cavotec Alternative Maritime Power Supply system (AMP), which allows ships to switch off their engines when in port and instead connect to a shore-side power supply, was also presented during the conference. Such sophisticated technological advancement is set to offer substantial reductions in pollution and energy costs in port areas and surrounding communities.
For the airport market, the new Cavotec PCAir system was discussed during the seminar. Unlike any other air-based technology currently on the market, it expands dry compressed air to produce 100mA/min of preconditioned air at -25CA at the inlet. Cavotec's PCAir system proves beneficial to both business and the environment, as it reduces pollution and cuts expenses.
Various case studies were also presented to the attendees, encompassing impressive references of Cavotec's projects in the UAE. Examples of these prestigious and high-calibre projects are the Burj Al Arab, the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, the Burj Dubai and the Dubai International Airport. In addition to this remarkable roster of clients in the Emirates, and Oman, Cavotec has recently been awarded a contract for the St. Regis Hotel project in Qatar.
