beauty jury; EACH week, real puts the latest beauty products to the test using our very own jury made up of real women. This week, we asked the ladies from Links of London in Liverpool's Metquar ter to pucker up and test festive lip glosses.

TESTER: Leeanna Dubbeur, 39, assistant manager. PRODUCT: Strictly Fab-u-lous Lip Gloss Collection (Boots), pounds 6. VERDICT: This gloss was really long lasting. I put it on in the morning and, for a gloss, it lasted really well - about four hours. I loved the three great colours which would certainly see you through the party season, and the packaging was great - they would make a really good gift. Superb value for money, I really could not fault this in any way.

RATING: 10 out of 10 TESTER: Rhiannon Williams, 20, sales assistant. PRODUCT: Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Flash-Plumping Spotlight Shine Lipgloss, pounds 19.50. VERDICT: I thought this was a bit on the pricey side but, that said, it was a good make and contained a large amount. I instantly fell in love with it. The colour was gorgeous, rich and deep which made it perfect for winter wear. The consistency was good, not too sticky, unlike others I have used before, and the colour didn't fade.

It was little short of perfect. RATING: 10 out of 10 TESTER: Rosin Carr, 22, sales assistant. PRODUCT: Rimmel Vinyl Gloss Voluptuously Shiny Lipgloss, pounds 4.99. VERDICT: I thought the product was good value for money but it didn't really last long once applied. I liked the colour and the slight sparkle meant it would be great for a night out although, to get a good shine, you did need to apply a few coats. I didn't like the consistency - it was quite thin.

RATING: 5 out of 10 TESTER: Karen Deas, 34 PR Manager for Metquarter, Clarity Creation - which looks after Links. PRODUCT: Bobbi Brown Glitter Lip Gloss, pounds 14.

VERDICT: I think this was really expensive for the size and the applicator was a little, stubby brush. It felt quite gloopy and sticky, but it did last ages. The tones in the gloss were really shimmery and sparkly though, so it redeemed itself slightly.

RATING: 6 out of 10 TESTER: Cheryl Fialka, 54, store manager. PRODUCT: Estee Lauder Pure Color Lip Gloss, pounds 15.

VERDICT: This is excellent value for money. I loved the colour and the shimmer effect and, though it needed reapplying throughout the day like all lip glosses, overall coverage was good.

I would definitely recommend it and buy it again.

RATING: 10 out of 10
