bacon on films: CAMPING IT DOWN; DADDY DAY CAMP COMEDY Cert: PG *.

Byline: bacon

THE camp is a summer camp, but if it were a death camp it would get about as many laughs.

Has any Oscar winner fallen further than Cuba Gooding Jr? That was a rhetorical question - the answer is obviously No, because he's starring in the sequel to Daddy Day Care (a film he wasn't even in. He's replaced Eddie Murphy, who's clearly turned his nose up at this, even though he's hardly been picky about scripts lately).

Charlie Hinton (Cuba) and pal Phil (Paul Rae) take over Camp Driftwood, which has seen better days, to compete against the upmarket camp run by childhood nemesis Lance (Lochlyn Munro).

It's just an excuse for a series of painfully weak non-jokes and semi-slap stick which you'll despair at.

Can they turn it around, or will they fail so Lance gets to buy it? If you care, seek medical help.
