award touches amy's heart; Beauty award of the year - highly COMMENDED.

Byline: Kaerlig Beauty

Creating a sustainable business at a difficult time of her life, Amy Alexander said winning the award has touched her heart.

After being diagnosed with cancer, Amy wanted to find a way to treat her skin and to keep her mind busy to stay positive. She created a range of vegan and sustainable soap, and Kaerlig Beauty was born in March last year.

Amy said: "I was very excited to receive this award. It was very, very unexpected. I am delighted.

"Winning the award means so much to me. For me, personally, and for my family, this journey has been very difficult at times. This award has touched our hearts. It's a lovely reminder of why I started this business.

"Unfortunately, I was not able to attend the actual ceremony but I was very much there in spirit."
