Q What is a safe waist size these days to stay healthy?

A Waist size varies with height and build, but generally if it is over 37inches/94cms for a man and 32inches/81cms for a woman, you are more at risk of health problems such as heart disease and diabetes.

Measure halfway between the bottom of your ribs and the top of your hips, around belly button height for most people.

Q Should

I be taking an aspirin every day to prevent heart attacks?

A You may have seen recent reports stating that for certain people, taking aspirin may be more risky than beneficial.

In general, aspirin is definitely worthwhile for people who have had a heart attack, stroke or certain conditions. These people will have been advised to take aspirin by their doctor. For other people it is best not to take aspirin every day because of increased risk of internal bleeding.
