CHRIS ISAAK - MR LUCKY TWENTY years on from Wicked Game, Chris Isaak's age has caught up with him, in a good way. His country crooning persona somehow makes a lot more sense coming from a man of mature years. Aside from a couple of throwaway tracks, this is slickly produced, radio- friendly AOR of the highest quality. P.O.S - NEVER BETTER P.O.S delivers a fast-paced assault from beginning to end, touching on everything from politics (Savion Glover), the daily grind (Goodbye) and domestic abuse (Been Afraid), in a way which has listeners hanging on every word. This will not be winning any Grammys, but you'll be lucky to find a better hip hop album in 2009.
