albion rovers 3 CLYDE 0 ROVERS wing king Gary Phillips insisted practice makes perfect after he fired a double to sink Clyde.

The former Largs Thistle star ripped the Bully Wee apart in a mesmerising first half.

He opened the scoring with a smart back-post finish early on before Pat Walker doubled the lead.

Phillips then added a superb clincher in 36 minutes, ghosting to the edge of the box to clip a short corner by David Crawford into the bottom corner.

He said: "David and I have practised that a lot in training but it has never come off - until now. That's why it was so sweet."

Clyde had several chances in the second half but gaffer Jim Duffy said: "We were poor - embarrassing in fact."
