ahlibank introduces margin trading.

Muscat: The brokerage department of ahlibank, which has a range of financial products, has launched margin trading, which is also known as secured finance. In a step to further boost activities of the local stock market and to help increase daily market volumes, the Capital market Authority (CMA) recently approved secured financing. "We realise that the market is changing and that the requirements of our clients are also evolving along with the market. The introduction of margin trading activity insures our goal of being the bank of choice for individuals and corporate alike. These services will help us meet our client's requirements and at the same time provide our clients with a range of financing options when dealing in the local stock exchange. Our margins trading service is strictly in compliance with CMA and CBO regulations," said Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al Balushi CEO of ahlibank. "Broadly speaking, margin trading is trading in the securities market with borrowed resources. Margin trading provides a facility to investors to trade in the market with the margin money; it essentially is a leverage mechanism," added Amin Al Balushi, Head of ahlibank's Brokerage Division.
