| MERTHYR If you enjoy singing, why not join a community group that meets at Theatr Soar every other Monday night? There is a session tonight with the chance to learn new songs and meet new people in a relaxed, informal setting. All ages and abilities are welcome, but children under the age of 14 must be accompanied. Runs 7pm to 9pm. 01495 357816.

Tuesday | CARDIFF Jesus Christ Superstar at the Motorpoint Arena, with a final chance to seen the original cast including Chris Moyles and Ben Forster. Starts at 8pm and tickets are from PS34. 029 2022 4488.

Wednesday | CARDIFF Join a walk in Bute Park with the Urban Rangers between 2pm and 4pm. Learn a bit about the varied history whilst enjoying the flora and fauna in Cardiff's own Central Park. Meet at Bute Park Education Centre. The distance will be 2km.

| CARDIFF Netmums meets up at Pontprennau Community Church, Heol Pontprennau. If you are new to the area, or just interested in meeting up with other parents of small children, there is a parent and toddler morning at the church from 9.45am to 11.15am. The cost is PS2, which includes a hot drink for parents and cold drink for the children.

Thursday | CARDIFF Talk about medieval medicine at Cardiff Castle. Find out more about the bloodcurdling techniques of medieval medicine from the Barber Surgeon. Tales of the Black Death, treating battle wounds, setting bones and pulling teeth - not to mention the blood-letting and the leeches. 029 2087 8100.

| PORTHCAWL Budding young artists are being called to have some creative fun at the Grand Pavilion, from 4pm. Art workshop will explore line, shape and colour, give you better skills and grow your confidence in a creative and fun environment. Suitable for children aged seven to 12.

The Old Trout Puppet Company are putting on a show, titled Ignorance, about the evolution of happiness. Kick off is 7.45pm. Tickets are PS20 for adults and PS5 for children.
