Cooper Tire names Dattilo president

Cooper Tire & Rubber appointed Thomas A. Dattilo president and chief operating officer. Datillo, 47, was formerly president, sealing products, for Dana in Toledo, OH. Datillo attended Ohio State University and also completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program. He is a member of the Young President's Organization and is past chairman of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association. In his new position, Datillo will oversee Cooper's tire and engineered products divisions and information systems and strategic planning group. Cooper Tire & Rubber is the fourth largest tire manufacturer in the U.S.

TECHNICAL

Nikolaos I. Stamatoulakis joined ND Industries as a chemist. The company also named Stacey Kacarka and Scot Allen Wickham lab technicians. The company appointed Carl Jordan and Matthew Lee MacInnes chemical technicians.

MANAGEMENT

Daniel S. Sanders was named president of Exxon Chemical. Sanders was also elected vice president of the corporation by the board of directors.

Bayer named Robert R. Kirk senior vice president, polyurethanes, and Nicholas T. Cullen has been appointed president of the company's plastics division.

Montell Polyolefins appointed Kees Linse chief operating officer and also named Hans Vogelsang president of Montell Europe.

Duncan Whyte was named chief executive for the Weir Group PLC.

Ashland Chemical appointed Michael L. Rademacher vice president and general manager for its industrial chemical and solvents division and Douglas K. Carr business manager for its strategic alliance business.

Shirley Gaufin was appointed senior vice president, human resources by Raytheon Engineers & Constructors.

Continental General Tire has promoted Donald L. Botka to vice president, business manager for its North American OEM operations.

Federal-Mogul appointed Ben James director, business development, sintered products. The company also appointed Leigh Briggs general manager, assembled camshafts and Mike Easterday general manager, machined camshafts.

Alpha Technologies named Don Bernard service business manager.

Steve Ouimette joined Louis P. Batson as a product manager.

Deborah L. Hackman was named inventory control manager/traffic manager for M.F. Cachat.

Joseph P. Loftus joined Tinius Olsen Testing Machine as secretary treasurer.

Union Carbide appointed Graham S. Cattell vice president of its engineering department.

Wayne D. Hayward joined Tinius Olsen Testing Machine as international sales manager.

Lloyd Fuller was named manager of national account sales at Continental General Tire.

Datacolor International appointed Jon Gowen technical sales representative for the paint and coatings, plastics and ink, and printing markets for the west coast region. Chris Hipps joined the company as technical sales representative, textiles, for the mid-atlantic region.

ASSOCIATIONS

Colleen M. Stuart, vice president Technicorp, has been elected chairman of the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) committee E-7 on nondestructive testing.

Ronald P. Harrelson was named president-elect of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and Marcus B. Crotts was named secretary/ treasurer of SME. Peter Z. Bulkeley was also named to the SME as second vice president, and Keith M. Gardiner was appointed third vice president.

RETIREES

Richard M. Beeghly, customer engineer senior for Kelly-Springfield's tire technology department, has retired.

G. Thomas Harrick, senior vice president, polyurethanes, will retire from Bayer in April.

Vincent C. Ross, director of marketing with C.P. Hall, will retire in March.

John Gingerich, president of Honeywell-Measurex has retired.
