Rugrats star Jack Riley dies aged 80.

JACK Riley - one of the actors behind the hit cartoon Rugrats - has died.

A renowned actor, he voiced children's toy inventor Stu Pickles - star Tommy's dad - on the series from 1991 to 2005.

He also voiced Stu in the various Rugrat movies. He reprised the role when Nickelodeon launched All Grown Up! which ran from 2003 to 2007.

Before Rugrats, Riley was a regular casting for comedy legend Mel Brooks and appeared in Spaceballs, History Of The World, Part I and High Anxiety.

Riley was also a regular guest star on 70s sitcom The Bob Newhart Show.

Riley was in Los Angeles when he succumbed to pneumonia in addition to a further infection.

He is survived by his wife and two children.
