Yerevan. Activists of the movement "We pay 100 drams" that marched to the building of the Ketron police department cannot

come closer to it, as policemen surrounded it.

Activists said that the police illegally seized an activist Argishti Kiviryan, as the latter has fulfilled his civil right for holding of

a peace action. They also added that violence was used against Kiviryan and injuries were inflicted on him.

To recall, activist Argishti Kiviryan, which started an active battle of words with Valeri Osipyan, was subjected to detention in

1 August. The battle of words started in front of the Yerevan Mayor's Office between activists and deputy chief of Police, Valeri

Osipyan.

The point is that activists have decided to set tents in front of the Yerevan Mayor's Office, as it is already for a week as they

were standing in a sunny spot, and were sleeping at the grass lawn. But Valeri Osipyan told activists that Police will not allow setting of

the tents in front of the mayor's office, as it is against the law. Activists replied that there is not such a law in Armenia.

The situation in front of the Yerevan Mayor's office is gradually intensifying and the battle of words between activists and

policemen has turned into skirmish.

As Arminfo correspondent reported, deputy chief of the Armenian Police, Valeri Osipyan and an activist Vardges Gaspari were

scuffling and trying to snatch a tent out of each other's hands. Activists were trying to set a tent in front of the mayor's office. Other

policemen came up to Osipyan to help him. Despite Gaspari's active resistance, policemen have nevertheless managed to take a tent from

him. The second tent was also taken by the policemen.
